Midwinter Music
Little oak leaves
still holding on
Brittle flicking and tapping
in midwinter air
The sound of sunflower seeds
cast by hand, caught by wind
sent skimming, spinning
across encrusted snow
Breathing stillness
pulsively into
a flute
Captured
in a tear
and falling snow.
