The effect on us is profoundly in keeping with the natural order of things. When we pray not for self serving reasons or for brownie points that will get us to Heaven and pray for others in love, I believe we can create change for real. If our goal is to make ourselves better people by being more spiritual, then our prayers will be null and void. However, when our motives are to bring peace and healing to others, we help energies and forces flow in the right direction. All creative energies, whether from the Creator or from Mother Earth, flow in a giving direction. This is why healers cannot heal themselves. The motives cannot be self serving if the energies are to work. That’s why you can’t tickle yourself. Same reason. I believe that you MUST care for others and the whole of creation. Give thanks always. The motive of some religious institutions is to scare people into Heaven. Fear, though, is a manipulator. Only love really works. We should care for others and let others care for us. That’s the way it works. Some call it faith. But healing comes from the love you give to another and the love you feel from another. It will work for the Earth. All of Creation works this way. You give of yourself so that others can go on. Freely I have received so freely I give. AHO
