The Essence of Love by Crow Suncloud

                       "As the Crow Flies"

Mother Earth is the garden of the spirit. The spirit is planted here so that we can be born into a physical body. The Earth is our home and our passageway out of the great dream that is spirit.
Life is a planting of the spirit so that a body can be formed from dying seed. So we see death does furnish life. The two are interdependent and one cannot exist without the other.

We are spirits on a physical journey to learn and broaden our spiritual condition. Without this sacred Mother Earth, we could not do this. All that is learned from the physical realm affects the spirit, and all that is learned from spirit affects the physical. Spirit is the essence of the One Great Mystery: The One-Who-Moves-In-All-Things.

The Great Spirit is the essence of the masculine. All that has life, all that is physical contains the spiritual essence of the masculine within the birthing of that life. And everything that has life, that is born, that grows from the Earth plane, is the manifestation of the feminine, the Mother Earth, for all are born from her. So we are both male and female.

Life is the manifestation or finished product of the love between the Great Spirit and Mother Earth. Creation is born because of the gentle, life producing lovemaking between male and female that has been ongoing for eons. We stand as a mirror of that love. We are a mirror image of the Great Spirit and Mother Earth and we are here to reproduce that same love to each other.

It is no coincidence that the rain that brings nourishment to achieve new birth comes from above and is received by the Earth. It is no coincidence that the light from the sun nurtures the Earth so to bring forth fruit that reaches upward. When it rains or snows it is the gentle lovemaking between Earth and Sky so that life can go on. So where we walk is sacred space.

We are here to partake in this process; to enrich our lives with all the deep meanings hidden but right in front of us. Dark but yet light, cold and warm, night and day, male and female, Spirit and Earth. All that is Spirit and all that is Earth are contained within us.

When two people find love, they become part of the most ancient form of balance. And in that balance they find peace. Life is restored and creation continues. It is part of all that is sacred, all that is the meaning of life. And we adhere to the principal that we are the children of the most sacred and profound love of all the ages.
